It is a requirement before travel to certain parts of the world to have the yellow fever vaccine and this must be evidenced by an accompanying certificate which is issued by the vaccination clinic to prove that the vaccine has been administered. The yellow fever vaccine should be given ten days before travel allowing the vaccination to be effective. Countries that require certification will not usually permit entry until a period of ten days has elapsed from the date of the vaccine administration.
